About exploratio astra

Hi, I’m Max and this is Exploratio Astra.

I created this site as I kept inundating group chats with my astrophotography (AP) photos. One of my friends, who will remain unnamed, recommended I join Insta to share them. That was a kind way of saying stop sending all these pictures in the group chat.

My journey with astronomy and AP began in May 2025 where I jumped headfirst into both hobbies. Because why not. It’s been a fun learning experience and very challenging.

I live in the Midwest, USA, with my beautiful wife. We have a rambunctious shepadoodle puppy and a lovebug tortie. We both love to travel the world and explore new places. Some of my other interests include board games, painting miniatures, hiking and staying active. Also, I decided to dabble in birding since I can reuse a lot of my astronomy and AP gear for the hobby.
